Helen L. Bishop, 1922-2003, Bunceton

Helen L. Bishop, 81, of Bunceton, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, in Boonville.

She was born in Sedalia on Nov. 30, 1922, a daughter of Franklin and Bertha Shull Bryant. On Dec. 19, 1942, in Boonville, she was married to Oscar T. Bishop who died on Dec. 29, 1986.

Mrs. Bishop enjoyed gardening, sewing and raising chickens. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Surviving are two sons, Charles Bishop and John Bishop, of Marshall; a daughter, Mary Helen Bishop, of Marshall; a sister, Hannah McConnell, of New Mexico; three half-sisters, Ramona Zieglein, of Arizona, Virginia Cramer, of Kansas City and Vivian Klubuchar, of California state; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Bryant; two sisters, Iness Balcom and Bertie Jucutan; and a half sister, Margaret Smith.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Markland-Gardner Funeral Home in New Franklin, with the Rev. Dan Pritchard officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Bishop, Mike Bishop, Jimmy Morrow, Chris Hazel, Jim Cox and Harold Maier.
